DNS Editing

Cargo provides DNS-editing capability for your domains. This can be used for things like linking third-party services such as filehosting or email.
u.cargo → 🅐 → Account Settings → Domain Names
Click on the “···” icon next to the domain you want to edit and then choose Edit DNS.

Supported records

“A”
An A record is commonly used to point your root domain to another location using an IP Address.

“CNAME”
Use CNAME records to link a subdomain of your domain to a different service.

“MX”
Email services such as Pobox and Google Apps will require you to add MX records in order to receive email at your domain. Learn how to setup email with a Cargo Domain.

“HTTPRED”
Used to redirect or “web forward” a domain or subdomain to another URL. This is useful, for example, if you've purchased two domains from Cargo and you’d like one of them to redirect to the other.

Other supported records:
ANAME, SPF, SRV, and TXT.

Adding records

Add a new record by clicking New and choosing the record type in the left column. Note that after a domain’s DNS records are changed it can take some time for these to propagate across the Web. This can take up to 48 hours although it is typically much faster.
